Margaret Ann Ewing
[Since last writing, Margaret has completed her M.A. and is continuing in the U. of Ill. Ph.D. program, now at the Phillips Collection in Washington, D.C.]
I've just finished my first semester as a graduate student in art history, at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. It was challenging but invigorating, and I'm looking forward to going back for more after a month to catch up on my sleep! After getting through
my distributional requirements, I plan to focus on the art of postwar Germany, and how artists have advanced that country's project of coming to terms with the history of the Holocaust. A big subject, but one I find very engaging! Other interests that I haven't been finding enough time for include travel, vegan cooking, choral singing, and reading fiction.
